I don’t know about you, but I am a notorious over-packer. At the end of every trip, it feels like I haven’t touched half my suitcase! I think a lot of that came from not having a plan for every day. Recently, I’ve been trying to have a rough plan for every day of travel in hopes that it will lighten my suitcase weight!
This past Labor Day, Matt and I spent the weekend in Hilton Head and I feel like I really didn’t over-pack!
Below is a deep dive into what I have packed for our most recent trip to Hilton Head! I’ve added links to each outfit and included some key packing tips along the way - so don’t miss them!
AT THE BEACH
Packing a hat is SO hard. I always leave it for last and leave a niche for it in my suitcase. Then, use scarves or other light items to fill the hat to make sure it keeps it shape in your suitcase!

DATE NIGHT
The best and worst part about a beach date night - a linen outfit. Whenever I pack anything linen, it always gets extremely wrinkled. Try rolling your linen or other clothes instead of folding them. It will keep them less wrinkled and take up less space!

IN THE MAKEUP BAG
I usually try to let my skin breath when I’m in the sun. So instead of packing lots of makeup, I stick to a good powder and focus on packing some hydrating skincare. A must Is Aloe (duh). I also pack my favorite hydrating sleep mask and moisturizing oil to make sure my face is staying hydrated between the long days in the sun.
My skin care on any trip is probably the most important part of packing. I recently have discovered some AMAZING moisturizing products. Hello lineage lip mask and the watermelon sleeping mask - both linked below! All the products below have really become a staple in my beauty routine.
More on my skincare later (mainly because its been a long battle). Long story short: with the help of Curology and all the products below my skin has NEVER been this soft and acne/oil free.
I also love to use Jergens Instant Sun before I leave for a beach trip. I work a desk job, and definitely don’t see the sun much. So a little extra color helps make me feel more confident in a bikini! The color this gives you in unreal, and not streaky AT ALL.
