3 TIPS THAT MAKE TRAVELING DURING A PANDEMIC EASIER
Travel during the holidays is almost a given for most people. This year traveling for the Holidays might look a little different for you. I know for us we are driving to Matt’s family’s house instead of flying to avoid large crowds. If you do plan to fly during the holidays here are some key tips to know to make your whole experience more enjoyable (and germ free).
I’ve been traveling for work almost every month since June, and have come to appreciate tip number 2 of all!
Always wear a mask, but bring extras if you can
Most airports mandate mask wearing, so hopefully you’ll already be wearing one when you get to the airport. However, make sure you bring an extra one to change into when you get off of the flight or out of the airport, especially if you have a packed day after the flight.
I don’t know about you, but ANYTHING I wear on a plane always smells like diesel. I don’t really smell it until I take the clothes off, but no matter what that smell stenches up everything. When traveling for work I made sure to bring an extra disposable mask to change into after the flight to make sure I wasn’t smelling diesel gas fumes alll day. This was a huge help because I’m sure I was around more germs on my flight then after, so by switching my masks I was easily assured I was starting my work day with a germ-free mask!

Bring a small zip lock or bag full of travel size disinfectant wipes, GermEx, and tissues.
Most airlines are disinfecting the planes between flights, but I’m not so sure about the chairs at the gates. Just to be on the safe side, I started packing a small bag full of disinfectant wipes, GermEx, and tissues. This came in handy when I had to eat or drink at the airport. Plus, if you pack these essentials in a ZipLock bag you can easily keep all your trash together and dispose of it before you leave the airport.

Wear an outfit with more pockets than you think
I learned this tip the hard way: one time I was traveling for work during COVID times and decided to wear a dress. Sure it was cute, but I had NO pockets and found myself putting all sorts of my belongings on the floor, chair, just really everywhere (I know, gross). So I learned that by wearing an outfit with more pockets I keep everything at arms reach without having to stuff them in my bag, or leave them out in the airport!

Oh- and don’t forget to wash your hands!
I want to know! Do you still plan to travel during the holidays? If so, do you have any extra tips you can share? I have only flown about 5 times since COVID hit, so I’m sure there are more experts out there!
